Don’t feel as though you have to decorate your graduation parties in school colors or themes. Step out of the box and choose your child’s favorite color or a color that speaks to you because it’s about making the party personal to you and your family! Choose decor items that suit your child’s personality and the vibe you wish to convey to your guests. Look around your home for items you can use before purchasing anything.
Consider using mason jars and flowers from your garden. A trellis or old window frame used with clothes pins and twine can be a unique way to display your photos. You can find great inspirational signs at local craft or discount stores and a wide variety of balloons from ems shops. Old duvets or sheets can be made into tablecloths, runners, and balloon ribbons. Instead of standard oblong tables, consider using bar high top tables for guests who prefer to stand. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing and easy to arrange, they are less expensive to rent and offer guests an area to mingle. Use a terrarium, a birdcage, or even a vintage mailbox to house graduation cards.
Looking for a way to make lasting memories as well as entertain your guests? Consider placing polaroid cameras in engagement areas so friends and family can take photos with the graduate! Have a keepsake photo book out for your polaroids with a variety of colorful pens for heartfelt messages and words of wisdom.
A party does not have to break the bank to be lovely. Remember to take time to enjoy the beauty you have created and the day that is upon you and your graduate!
